Morocco 100% Wool Handcrafted Shag Rug IVORY
Morocco Long-Pile Wool Rug – Ivory (IVORY)
The Morocco Collection features long-pile rugs handcrafted from 100% wool. The deep, soft pile feels plush and warm underfoot. In the Ivory colorway, an ivory field is finished with woven bands in a matching cream tone, creating a simple, bright look. The natural tonal variations across the surface are a mark of its handcrafted nature and make every rug unique.
What Is a Long-Pile Wool Rug?
For a long-pile rug, the wool pile is left long and then sheared, creating a thick, soft, warm surface. Thanks to wool’s natural resilience, the pile springs back after being compressed. Wool softens heat and sound, bringing a calm atmosphere to the room.

Protect Their Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations that bring value to your living space for generations, adopt a gentle care routine.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When spills occur, timing is critical. Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to lift the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only - never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug pile (the fibers’ natural lay). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent localized tonal differences (fading), we recommend changing your rug’s direction every 2 to 6 months.
The Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble fibers such as handwoven TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For a thorough clean, seek help only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
The exquisite pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models explicitly labeled “Washable” in their name can be washed in home washing machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
