Perform the cleaning in the direction of the carpet’s fibers (the direction the threads run). Rubbing damages the fibers and causes the stain to penetrate deeper. Excessive wetting on delicate fibers like Tencel and viscose can cause color changes; if in doubt, stop the treatment.

For weekly care, use a vacuum with low suction power; high-powered upright vacuums can pull threads in handwoven carpets. To prevent the carpet from receiving sunlight on the same spot, turn it every 2–6 months. Direct sunlight can cause color differences, especially in viscose and Tencel carpets.
